KATHY GRIFFIN-----ABSOLUTELY VILE

KATHY GRIFFIN'S BEHAVIOR IS DISGUSTING AND DISTURBING

Kathy---you are no better than the terrorists who behead Americans, and men, women and children all over the world. Beheading is NEVER FUNNY.

You can disagree with someone politically, and you have the right to do this picture, and you are getting the publicity you so desperately crave. But you have gone too far. I guarantee you, you will see repercussions from this.

Just when you think someone can't go any lower in your estimation......and believe me..she was already underground for me.

MARION COTILLARD--SHAME ON YOU, CHRISTIAN DIOR

                DIOR JUST FIRED HER
           BECAUSE SHE'S TOO OLD!!!!!!

                          SHE'S 41

A new creative director was hired and decided they needed a younger image. How about a newborn baby? Would that work you for you?

Guess what, Dior? I could never afford to buy you anyway, but at least I can ask others to boycott you....yes....old hags like maybe 45-year-olds..............

DON'T FORGET DINA MERRILL

IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL OF TODAY'S INSANE NEWS, PLEASE PAUSE A MOMENT AND REMEMBER
                          ACTRESS DINA MERRILL.

Dina's mom
She was a "scandal-free," lovely-actress who was a close to American Royalty as we get. She was the  daughter of Marjorie Merriweather Post, and was raised her her mother's home Mar-a-Lago. A true lady, she died at 93 of Lewy Body Dementia, with her husband Ted Hartley by her side. She leaves two children. Sadly, two of her other children preceded her in death.

Dina, later in life

A beautiful woman, who had (I hope), a beautiful life.

Oh...and here's how she lived from Day One....

UNACCEPTABLE

SADNESS AND HORROR EVERYWHERE. FAMILIES DESTROYED. A SWEET, YOUNG, STAR WHO WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN.

AND YET ANOTHER SUSPICIOUS PERSON, KNOWN TO POLICE, WHO SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN LET INTO THE U.K. AND WHY WEREN'T THEY KEEPING A BETTER EYE ON HIM? THERE MAY BE AN ACCOMPLICE AS WELL. LOOKS LIKE ISIS, OF COURSE.

AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN.

DE NIRO VS. DREYFUSS AS MADOFF

           WHO DID IT BETTER????

RICHARD DREYFUSS!!!! FOR SURE.

IT'S NOT ABOUT "THE LOOK." It's about the performance...the depth, the intensity; what it makes you feel; the character it conveys.

DeNiro clearly CHOSE to play it flat; without energy, and, frankly, he hardly looked awake. He's an a extraordinary actor, so this was a surprising choice. Dreyfuss was mesmerizing and unforgettable. He didn't chew scenery. He just was riveting.

And, again..NOT about the look!

And, not to ignore the superb actresses Michelle Pfeiffer and Blythe Danner......they both did an outstanding job. In fact, Michelle ran away with that version.

TV SHOWS I REALLY MISS

AS ALL THE NETWORKS RELEASED THEIR NEW SCHEDULES OF SHOWS THIS WEEK, I COULDN'T HELP LOOKING BACK AND THINKING ABOUT WHAT I REALLY WISH WAS GOING TO BE ON NEXT SEASON.

I think that current TV is the most exciting, challenging, thought-provoking medium we have today. From House of Cards to 13 Reasons Why to Grace and Frankie to Scandal, things have never been better. But, as I was drifting off to sleep last night, I started thinking about shows I really wish I could watch every week with new episodes again.

Here are some of those shows I miss. Is your favorite on it, too?

THAT GIRL, starring Marlo Thomas, was the VERY FIRST show EVER starring a single-woman lead. She wasn't someone's wife. She wasn't dependent on anyone. It was a ground-breaking show that broke the barriers for all the comedy shows starring single women that followed. I'd love to see THAT GIRL today, updated to current situations, AND starring Marlo. Millions of women would watch because her situation would, once again, reflect a gigantic segment of the population. Networks----are you listening

THE DAYS AND NIGHTS OF MOLLY DODD, starring Blair Brown. This show, about a quirky, independent, complicated single woman, took things way beyond a Mary Tyler Moore character. It ran on NBC and LIfetime in the late 80s, and earned Blair five Emmy nominations. I just adored it.

BOSTON LEGAL was a totally insane law show with inventive characters and story lines. I REALLY miss seeing James Spader, Candice Bergen, and William Shatner.

SQUARE PEGS was on CBS in the 80s. It was the forerunner of EVERY show about high school kids that came after it. CBS should never have canceled it, but it was so ahead of its time, those executives didn't realize what they had. Tracy Nelson's character, which she totally re-invented from what was written on the page, was a stand-out. 13 REASONS WHY, plus ALL  of the CW and FREEFORM'S programming owe it all to SQUARE PEGS.

THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW and YOUR SHOW OF SHOWS (SID CAESAR AND IMOGENE COCA) were the most brilliant variety shows ever done. There isn't one show featuring sketches and character comedy that can come close. End of discussion. Every episode of these shows is a master class.

I SIMPLY MISS ALLY MCBEAL. I guess I just love shows with unusual characters and unique story lines. David Kelley's wild show, took hour-long "dramedy" off the charts. It invented that form. I miss those characters. I miss dancing babies and people singing Barry White songs.

AND NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS:

TWO OF MY FAVORITES ARE COMING BACK!

TWIN PEAKS AND ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT!!!!!

We already know that ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT will be good, because it has come back before and been great. Thank you, NETFLIX. TWIN PEAKS was a show that had me rivited from the first guitar note of that theme, to worrying about Laura Palmer every night. Please, God, I hope it's good. This is a show that has to be absolute perfection to compare to the original. There isn't room for even one mistake.

----------------------

And now, I confess my secret longing, even though I risk a response of laughter.
I really wish SOUL TRAIN (in its original form) were on again. Just one more stroll through the line, please.......

SMART METERS---THE SCAM

          BEWARE OF SMART METERS

WATCH OUT. MANY COMPANIES ARE PUSHING THIS TO "SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT AND IN CREASE YOUR COMMUNICATION WITH YOUR ELECTRIC COMPANY.
Smart meters have become increasingly prevalent in homes across the world. Their advertised intent is to provide an accurate and concise measurement of home energy usage. However, concerns plague the minds of researchers and everyday individuals over the safety and health effects of these measurement systems. Are smart meters safe? According to the FCC, the World Health Organization, and the FDA, the broadcasting frequencies emitted by smart meters are safe and do not pose a significant concern to human health.
Of course, the WHO also notes that the same radio frequencies used by smart meters may be a potential carcinogen.  In other words, the WHO recognizes smart meters as safe, yet recognizes the potential to cause cancer. Does anyone understand the logic behind these two contradictory statements?

How Do Smart Meters Work?

Smart meters work with two types of radio frequencies: 900MHz and 2.4 GHz. Unlike a cell phonelaptop, or wireless network, you can’t turn off a smart meter.
Radiation from this device is being projected through your environment every second of the day.
Many people have complained of unexplained health issues and troubling symptoms following the installation of smart meters in their home. Some of these symptoms include insomnia, fatigue, problems focusing, disorientation, neuropathy, sinus issues, thyroid problems, hyperactivity, and more.
To reduce or eliminate this potent source of RF radiation, you either have to remove the smart meter from your premises or protect yourself from the effects of its high-frequency radiation. Since the first option can be costly and may not be practical, there are a few products on the market that may help protect against the harmful effects smart meter radiation has on the body and mind.

UPDATE: Just after writing this, I walked outsIde to check my meters. I discovered that Southern California Edison installed Smart Meters  WITHOUT EVEN TELLING ME!!!!! GO OUT AND LOOK AT YOURS RIGHT NOW.

I called them and asked that the Smart Meters be removed. Although I didn't order them to be installed in the first place, they are charging me $75 TO REMOVE THEM, plus, a $10 charge EVERY MONTH TO NOT HAVE IT and go back to a safer meter.

GOOD LORD!!!!!

I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING. IS THIS WRONG????

13 REASONS WHY CONTROVERSY

13 REASONS WHY IS ABSOLUTELY SUPERB

THIS FICTIONAL SHOW ABOUT THE SUICIDE OF YOUNG YOUNG GIRL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST DISCUSSIONS AROUND RIGHT BOW.

School districts all over the country are meeting about it deciding to either ban it, or embrace it by recommending it to parents to watch with their children. Many schools are having meetings with parents and students to talk about it.

The school board of Denver, Colorado is accusing the show of causing seven suicides among their students. That's ridiculous!

What the show is doing is putting attention on a horrible problem. I am in the middle of watching the series, so I don't know what the "take away" is, but I find the show riveting. And, in particular, the performances of the young actors. Katherine Langford plays the suicide victim, and there's no question she will have a gigantic career ahead of her. She's just been signed by WME, and it's important now what kinds of roles she chooses. I hope they don't direct her to teen things, and that they, instead, build her to a Marion Cotillard-Nicole Kidman-type career. She has it ALL.

Katherine Langford

Dylan Minnette, the young male lead, is extremely appealing and moving.

Minnette and Langford carry the heavy show on their shoulders.

I must say, after I questioned kids the age of the ones in the show, they were not at all shocked by the issues raised, and seemed to take the whole thing in stride. It is the adults who are worried about the effect on their kids. Netflix has been very responsible about the content, and I hope this show saves lives.

SABU. CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT HIM

SABU---WHO? WHY, YOU ASK?

HE WAS SOOOOOOO GORGEOUS.............THAT'S WHY!

When I was having that terrifying walk down Hollywood Blvd. the other night, I came upon his star. I knew that NO ONE walking that night would know who he was. I only knew because my mother watched his old movies and showed me who he was.
When he was 13, Sabu was discovered by documentary film-maker Robert Flaherty who cast him in the role of an elephant driver in the 1937 British film Elephant Boy, based on "Toomai of the Elephants", a story by Rudyard Kipling. In 1938 producer Alexander Korda commissioned A. E. W. Mason to script The Drum as a starring vehicle for the young actor. Sabu is perhaps best known for his role as Abu in the 1940 British film The Thief of Bagdad. Director Michael Powell said that he had a "wonderful grace" about him.[7] In 1942 he once again played a role based on a Kipling story, namely Mowgli in Jungle Book directed by Zoltán Korda where he plays a feral child whose animals are in danger by human villagers. He starred alongside Maria Montez and Jon Hall in three films for Universal PicturesArabian Nights (1942), White Savage (1943) and Cobra Woman (1944).
After becoming an American citizen in 1944, Sabu joined the United States Army Air Forces and served as a tail gunner and ball turret gunner on B-24 Liberators. He flew several dozen missions with the 370th Bomb Squadron of the 307th Bomb Group in the Pacific, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his valor and bravery.[8]
His career declined after World War II as he was unable to secure equivalent roles in Hollywood that British films had offered. He occasionally did gain significant parts, such as his supporting role in the British film Black Narcissus (1947). Through most of the 1950s he starred in largely unsuccessful European films. In 1952, he starred in the Harringay Circus with an elephant act.[9]
His last completed film, A Tiger Walks, was released in March 1964, three months after his death from a heart attack and only 39 years of age.

He left a wife and two children.

THE BEST FOR LAST:

This is a picture of my step-mother, Lois Collier. (She wasn't a nice woman...but) she co-starred with Sabu in "Cobra Woman" One of her lines was (looking at Sabu, who was short and standing by a tree holing a rope) "Tree stand tall. Stretch little fella." Thank you for that.

By the way, she made over 45 movies, including starring with the Marx Brothers in "A Night in Casablanca," and later in the TV series "Boston Blackie." Still didn't make her nice.

HOLLYWOOD BLVD. FRIDAY NIGHT. TERRIFYING.

YOU TAKE YOUR LIFE IN YOUR HANDS WALKING DOWN HOLLYWOOD BLVD.

I went to The Pantages to see THE BODY GUARD the other night. I wanted to eat Joe's Pizza before the show. That necessitated walking four blocks west on Hollywood Blvd. It was 6:30 on a Friday night, and it was a horrible experience. First, I do want to say that the block directly in front of the Pantages is fine and feels safe. DON'T LEAVE THERE.

I literally saw people spitting, vaping God-knows-what,  swearing, and drugging. The sidewalks were filthy, and I thought I was in a Third World Country. I truly felt that a fight could break out any minute; there could be a stabbing or a shooting right before my very eyes.

Trust me, Hollywood has NOT been cleaned up. IT IS MUCH WORSE.
DO YOU HEAR THAT L.A MAYOR ERIC GARCETTI????

RUN TO THE PANTAGES TO SEE "THE BODYGUARD"

I COULD WATCH THIS SHOW EVERY NIGHT. IT WAS THE HAPPIEST TIME I'VE HAD IN A LONG TIME IN THE THEATRE.

"The Bodyguard" is Whitney Houston. Period. People loved her so much, that it is almost a miracle to see "Whitney" alive and well and in her prime, thanks to Deborah Cox.

Deborah supplied Whitney's vocals for the Lifetime movie about her life. You could not tell the difference between Deborah and Whitney. Deborah has an interesting challenge as an actress. She is Deborah Cox, playing Whitney, playing Rachel Marron. Think about that. Deborah even has Whitney's speaking voice and speech pattern down pat. Her performance is perfection. And, that is quite an accomplishment. Deborah doesn't really look like Whitney She is of smaller stature and less gangly. But, it's all about the voice, attitude and perception.

At first, in the beginning of Act 1, Deborah's singing voice sounded tired, and I was worried she might be sick. But, as the act continued, her voice got stronger. She totally has the pipes, so I was initially concerned. Singing that hard, eight shows a week, is a killer, and, believe me, Deborah IS the show. Her songs were interrupted by applause throughout.

NOTE: DEBORAH IS NOT DOING SOME MATINEES. CALL THE THEATRE TO MAKE SURE SHE'S IN THE SHOW WHEN YOU BUY YOUR TICKETS.

Familiar material can go either way, and this was a huge success. The production is very cleverly directed by Thea Sharrock, who did the London production. It is full of dazzle and danger.

I did have one problem with it. At the end of the first act, Deborah is "in one" singing "I Have Nothing." The audience is going crazy, and seconds before the end, as the audience is about to rise up and cheer, the moment is shattered by the appearance of her sister, played by Jasmin Richardson, singing a bit of the song at the end. You could actually hear the audience wince at the intrusion. I understand what the director was doing, since she repeated the "intrusion" in the second act as well, but it was a VERY BAD CHOICE.

Speaking of Jasmin Richardson, she's great as Nikki Marron. She's done "Dreamgirls" and "Memphis" on Broadway and in the national tours. Her voice sounds like an even better Dionne Warwick. A Dionne musical for Broadway is in development, and Jasmin should absolutely play her. She even has her carriage on stage.

Jasmin Richardson

If you go, look around you. I just might be there again. And again.
